Background

Cyclona Gowen aka Clonie was born in the year 1971 in Oklahoma. She was an active sports player during her growing up years. She always had a fierce competitiveness in her, whether it was sports or poker. During high school she played basketball and had been a star athlete. She had also participated in various state level championships. When she was just 15, she participated and won the title of Miss Teen Oklahoma.

After getting married she settled down in Dallas, Texas with her husband and two kids. She owned and managed a travel agency for a while and was a full time mom to her two kids. On weekends she used to play poker and would drive down to Shreveport in Louisiana where the closest casino was located. It was then that she first developed her skills and realized that she was actually a good player. She mostly played in the cash games and it was only a matter of time before she started winning big money at the casino.

Professional Career

Clonie first managed to get the attention of the media when she started playing the poker calculator tournaments. In the year 2002 she participated in the World Poker tour in Costa Rica and finished at the 10th place. In the year 2003 she participated at the World Poker Tour Ladies Night. She managed to win the tournament beating big players like Annie Duke, Maureen Feduniak, Jen Harman, Evelyn Ng and Kathy Liebert. Since then there was no looking back for Clonie.

In this year, she participated in many WSOP events and finished at the 459th place out of more than 5600 players. She also finished in the money at a WPT tournament in the Atlantic City’s Borgata Casino. In the Ultimate Poker Challenge tournament she took the 7th place. In the FullTiltPoker.Net Championship, she stood 3rd at the Wynn Casino. She is a regular figure in the poker tournament circuit and can be seen participating in tournaments all over the world.

Currently she lives with her two children in Dallas Texas and works for FullTiltPoker.net Download. She has had several accolades to her credit and when she is not playing in tournaments she does poker broadcasting. She is also a guest commentator at several poker tournaments like Ultimate Poker Challenge and World Poker Championship. She regularly writes for several poker publications and magazines.
